Photos from a weekend in Mount Crawford Forest, May 2006

Plenty of rain had produced some spectacular fungi

Although the forest was predominantly pine, the scenery was varied and the walking was good

A free camp site. Truck-loads of only slightly soggy firewood, a large clearing in the woods, a dugout firepit - clear days and cool night, the temperature dipping to a cool 6 degrees C

Wine tasting in the Barossa - here, barrels are stored outside at Liebich Wines - the small tasting area, housed in a corrugated iron shed, offered some great full-bodied reds

In several vineyards, the grapes have been left to rot on the vines

The Yaldara winery - they do a Petit Verdot with rich berry flavours, and a beautiful Shiraz

The Kaiser Stuhl conservation pask features two walks - we saw lots of kangaroos
